Emmanuel and his family have been residents of the Sault Ste. Marie since August 2021.
Q: What has your experience been like since moving to the Soo?
A: We arrived in the beginning of winter, and perhaps that was the most complicated part since we had only one car. My wife didn’t have the opportunity to interact with many people, however everyone has been very empathetic and helpful and have helped to settle and adapt.
Now I am a few months away from completing my Sault college degree, and on to the next steps.
My wife has a steady job, and my daughter is enjoying all aspects of life in the soo. My 3 year old is already attending daycare and I can’t wait to finish school to get a full time job so I can apply for permanent residence through Rural Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP).
The soo seemed like the right for us choice due to the low crime index, as well as the 2-year program at Sault College.
