Our continuous growth creates a demand for heavy maintenance lines. We service the Dash 8 Q400, Dash 8 100/300 aircraft. Along with the CRJ100/200/700/900 aircraft.

Position Summary:

Accountable to the Director of Maintenance, the Production Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the production staff and planning the incoming and outgoing aircraft schedule. The Production Manager is the main point of contact for the maintenance staff, and supervises the leads, mechanics and groomers.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations and monitor project efficiencies.
  • Advice on company direction while evaluating the cost management of projects.
  • Negotiate and respond to client inquiries regarding estimates and final billed items.
  • Facilitate planning of incoming checks for parts, tooling, manpower, space, etc.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in amending when required, the event of an AOG, or unplanned and planned overnight line maintenance.
  • Support engineering requirements while acting as a liaison with Bombardier
  • Support tooling and out-of-shop repairs for all projects
  • Work with Human Resources to administer employee evaluations, disciplinary action reports and suspensions
  • Evaluate time off requests while managing the employee schedule
  • Manage and minimize financial impact during off-peak workloads
  • Administer disciplinary action reports/suspensions
  • Employee evaluations 

Manpower:

  1. Evaluate requirements
  2. Manage/administer schedule

  4. Allocate manpower to aircraft/project on a daily basis
  5. Amend as required in the event of AOG, Unplanned and planned overnights
  6. Minimize financial impact during a time of lower workload
  7. Project Management
  8. Manage, evaluate, and amend billable hours for each project
  9. Manage and monitor the efficiency of projects
  10. Cost management of projects
  11. Evaluate and estimate span times based on project workloads
  12. Estimate man-hour requirements for various projects/tasks
  13. Support tooling / out-of-shop repairs for all projects
  14. Support engineering requirements/interface with customer and BBD
  15. Facilitate planning of incoming checks for parts, tooling, manpower, space, GSE…
  16. Set up work orders and estimates with tech records
  17. Negotiate and respond to customer inquiries regarding estimates
  18. Negotiate and respond to customer inquiries regarding final billed items
  19. Manage span time performance
  20. Prepare and track final report for billing
  21. Hangar rash evaluation and reification

Stores:

  1. Scheduling interface with stores manager
  2. Support
  3. Assist in determining priority levels of tasks
  4. Required tooling / parts
  5. Expediting items to floor

Technical Records:

  1. Scheduling
  2. Aid with the supervision of QA functions
  3. Aid with the supervision of tech records functions
  4. Manage problems/challenges that deviate from normal operations

FBO / Hangar Maintenance:

  1. Provide direction on hanger maintenance and upkeep
  2. Provide direction on customer relations and acquisition to the FBO manager

    Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Education Requirements

    • Three to five years of aircraft maintenance experience, with working knowledge of MRO business activities.
    • Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license or equivalent required.
    • Three to five years in Aviation Management or related discipline or equivalent combination of education, training or experience required.

    Qualifications:

    • Strong understanding of Human Resources policies and processes
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
    • Familiarity with Canada Labour Code and Federal Labour Standards

    Working hours:

    Working hours are mainly 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday; extra hours may be required to complete project deadlines.
