Marie and Algoma District residents, as well as various clinical programs to our entire community.

Position Overview

As an integral part of the team, the Nurse Practitioner will carry out a full scope of practice and work alongside a talented team of health professionals to deliver quality care in our Group Health Centre (GHC) Access Care Clinic.

Clinic Overview

The Group Health Centre (GHC) Access Care Clinic is being established as a temporary solution to bridge the gap for GHC patients being de-rostered on or after May 31. Led by Nurse Practitioners, this innovative clinic will provide essential services such as urgent care, episodic care, chronic disease symptom management, and prescription maintenance. It will also facilitate ongoing referrals and ensure uninterrupted access to GHC’s programs and services. Patients will benefit from the continued utilization of the GHC Electronic Medical Record which houses their history and provides ongoing access to MyChart, an electronic patient portal. The clinic will help reduce the risk of unnecessary Emergency Department visits and other burdens on our already strained health system while we continue to focus on recruiting and retaining healthcare providers.

Compensation & Benefits Highlights:

  • Annual salary of $104,500.50 – $128,524.50 commensurate with nursing experience (increasing by 3.25% on April 1, 2025)

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse Practitioner with a valid Extended Class Certification of Registration with The College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) in good standing

  • Advanced knowledge and decision-making skills in health care assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic disease
  • Proven ability to provide excellent care within a multidisciplinary team
  • Highly developed critical thinking, efficient time management, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively, independently, and interdependently within an interdisciplinary team
  • Commitment to the professional and organizational vision as it pertains to clinical practice and patient care
  • Innate ability to act as a resource and role model
  • Effective team building skills and be able to promote and support positive working relationships, with all staff
  • Ability to manage a critical situation using advanced critical thinking skills and a calm, therapeutic approach
  • Demonstrated ability within the nurse/client relationship, to care for patients as unique individuals whose goals, values, and point of view may differ from those of the caregiver
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in practice in a new model that is ever-evolving
  • Demonstrated success in living the values of GHC
