Manager Enterprise Services/Millworks

Job Type: Temporary Full Time (approximately 12 – 18 months)

Salary Range: $65,395 – $77,872

Purpose:

  • Supervise the provision of information, training, counselling and mentoring of clients to encourage entrepreneurship and job creation.
  • Develops partnerships to advance the level of service provided by the organization to clients.
  • Supervise the operations of Millworks Centre for Entrepreneurship (Millworks).

Primary Duties and Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide input and execute annual plans related to programs and services offered through Millworks.
  • Initiate, develop, monitor and maintain partnerships with various stakeholders; e.g. government services, entrepreneurs, financial institutions, business service organizations.
  • Deliver and administer provincial programs for small business, entrepreneurship and monitor budgets and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate the delivery of information, counselling, and mentorship to clients as well as programs to encourage entrepreneurship and professional development.
  • Research clients’ needs and identifies local/regional trends and opportunities.
  • Evaluate clients’ business plans, and provide analysis and support in the development of funding applications.
  • Organize, develop and attend various business events to showcase entrepreneurship and business and participate on various committees.
  • Develop and facilitate various training workshops.
  • Research and develop new projects, programs, initiatives, and partnerships to enhance services provided for revenue generation.
  • Supervise resources and provide team guidance.
  • Compile various reports and results; e.g. annual/quarterly/monthly.
  • Maintains client information in the corporate client relationship management system (CRM).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • University Degree in related field; Business, economics, Commerce, etc.
  • Economic Development Certificate from a recognized institution, or ability to obtain within designated time frame.
  • Three years’ counselling businesses on various aspects of starting/growing a business.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft including experience in Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Excellent presentation, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of business and the regional economy.
  • Possess strong analytical skills, including the ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Strong team player with ability to lead and take initiative.
  • Excellent research skills.
  • Ability to meet and interact with people in a pleasant, professional, and responsible manner
  • Experience in a not-for-profit and/or a municipal environment, is an asset.
