The Opportunity:
The Manager, Aircraft Maintenance & Quality is responsible to fulfill the responsibilities as Transport Canada approved Person Responsible for Maintenance directing and coordinating the operation of the Sault College Aircraft Maintenance Organization for the Sault College Flight Training Unit.
The Manager, Aircraft Maintenance & Quality is also responsible for developing, administering and enforcing regulations and maintaining standards concerning aviation safety including air worthiness of aircraft and aircraft systems, and the safety aspects of aviation facilities, equipment and procedures. This position will also be responsible for the overall management of the Sault College Hangar.
What you need to be successful:
- 3-year diploma/degree in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering
- Transport Canada designation as Person Responsible for Maintenance (PRM) for the Sault College Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) required
- Minimum of 5 years experience of progressive responsibilities including lead technician or technical supervision of the maintenance and repair of aircraft, aircraft engines, electronic communication and navigation systems with responsibility for airworthiness following Canadian Aircraft Regulations and Transport Canada safety standards
- This experience must demonstrate a broad and comprehensive knowledge of maintenance of the aircraft and aircraft systems, with knowledge of planning, implementation, and direction of the maintenance control system for the aircraft operated by the flight training unit
- Computer skills (Microsoft Suite, etc.) are required
- Problem-solving, evaluation and fact-finding ability
- Knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations
- Excellent communication skills, reading comprehension and report writing
- Strong team building skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner, both internally and externally
- Ability to work independently, establish appropriate priorities, and multi-task
