Salary Range: $87,294 – $98,194 annually

Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, the Human Resources Administrator, in this confidential non-union position, performs as an integral member of the Human Resources team in providing a service-based approach to client groups, including all school board employees, to ensure long-term quality improvement and excellence in achieving the needs of the Board.
- Act as a resource and provide guidance and support on human resources related issues, in compliance with HSCDSB policies, procedures, collective agreements, and government legislation.
- Co-ordinate and provide support on the administration of the staffing and the recruitment activities
- Be the first point of contact, resolve issues, and respond to employee inquiries.
- Support in labour relations by actively participating in the grievance and arbitration process for all union groups; remain current by providing interpretation on such things as employment and safety legislation and settlements.
- Co-ordinate and provide support on the administration of staffing, recruitment, and onboarding activities.
- Responsible for HR reports as they relate to absences and staffing and maintenance of Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications, skills, experiences, and attributes:
- Qualifications as a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP);
- A minimum of five years of experience in human resources;
- Experience working in a unionized environment (e.g., labour relations, negotiations, collective agreement interpretation); general knowledge of employment law (e.g., employment standards, human rights, pay equity);
- Proficiency in using a variety of software and applications (e.g., Word, Excel, databases, HRIS);
- Effective interpersonal, communication, organizational, time management, and conflict resolution skills;
- Superior attention to detail; ability to prioritize, multi-task, and adhere to deadlines;
- Creativity and effective problem-solving skills; Ability to work independently and in a dynamic team environment;
- Ability to deal with stress effectively and deliver results in a high-pressure environment;
- Ability to resolve various situations with diplomacy, discretion, and confidentiality;
- Leadership experience, including evidence of work towards the Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation, is considered an asset.
- Be required to travel occasionally within the board’s jurisdiction (i.e., between Hornepayne and Espanola).
