Job Term: 5 Temporary : (1) assignment/contract for up to 12 months with possible extension, (1) seasonal for 42 weeks per year, (3) temporary on-call for 11 months
Salary: $29.53 – $34.75 Per Hour*

If so, the Aviation Services Centre (ASC) is looking for you to assist in the delivery of flight coordination, charter management, logistics, and flight monitoring to support Ontario’s fleet of aircraft, commercial air carriers and other ministry clients. You will also support Ontario’s flight coordination of specialty flying operations such as rabies baiting, fish stocking, water bombing, aerial surveying, and slinging.

What can I expect to do in this role?
In this role, you will:
- Plan and coordinate flight services of Ontario government aircraft
- Acquire, plan, and coordinate commercial aircraft services that meet the needs of all Ontario government ministries, agencies, and partners
- Respond promptly, calmly and effectively in emergency situations using appropriate response protocols and procedures
- Confirm air to ground communications requirements and procedures are in place to ensure monitoring of all flights for safety as required
- Ensure appropriate linkages with regard to requests for aviation services
NOTE: The position may require the incumbent to work compressed shifts, weekends, statutory holidays and overtime as required. Position will require incumbent to work days, afternoons, and evenings (i.e. may be required to remain on duty after shift with no advance notice). The Aviation Services Centre operates seven days a week. Working periods of up to 19 consecutive days may be required during emergency situations. Field assignments will require occasional travel.
How do I qualify?
Mandatory requirement:
- You possess or have the ability to obtain a valid federal Restricted Radio Telephone Operator Certificate with Aeronautical Qualification (ROC-A).
Interpersonal and communication skills:
- You have strong customer service skills.
- You have proven interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- You have the ability to handle situations in a professional manner.
- You have the ability to brief peers on work issues and speak competently on issues.
- You have the ability to deal tactfully, discreetly, and confidentially with clients at all levels of government.

- You have the ability to work efficiently without direct supervision, both in a team environment and while working alone.
Computer skills:
- You are proficient with computers and various software applications including spreadsheets, email, databases and word-processing.
- You have highly accurate data entry/keyboarding skills.
Technical knowledge and skills:
You have the ability to quickly learn and understand:
- Related aviation standard operating practices and procedures, air regulations, Air Operations Manuals and Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs).
- All aspects of non-scheduled aircraft coordinating procedures, including flight watch/following and air-to-ground communication procedures
- Emergency planning and response
- Logistical planning skills to prioritize workload
