Salary Range: $37.27 – $45.84 hourly

Purpose:
Reporting to the Manager of Financial Services, the Financial Analyst is responsible for leading the accounting receivable and payable processes as well as monitoring billing or payments based on the hospital’s current cash flows. Additionally, the Finance Analyst performs a variety of complex accounting functions in the preparation, processing, maintenance, verification and reconciliation of accounts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review account sub ledgers for aging and any abnormalities or discrepancies.
- Updates and maintains 12 month rolling cash flow forecast.
- Research and analyze discrepancies and process appropriate corrections.
- Set up and maintain database files; create spreadsheets and other related forms, reports and Set priorities and organize work to meet deadlines; coordinate a variety of projects simultaneously.
- Maintain and prepare records and reports.
- Assist with external reporting requirements.
- Perform a variety of accounting duties related to month end close and assist or prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements.
- Administrate account modules in Meditech on a monthly basis.
- Prepare monthly manual journal entries.
- Ensure batches are correctly posted to the general ledger by month end.
- Perform monthly reconciliations.
- Assist with the preparation of year-end audit and reconciliations.
- Assist in the development of new procedures as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- University degree in Business Administration; or related field; or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- 3 years of recent experience working in an accounting environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge, Skills, & Ability:
- Knowledge of the Ministry of Health Schedule of Benefits.
- Sound working knowledge of accounting and financial reporting principles and
- Understanding of financial controls and
- Analytical and problem solving skills to prepare and maintain complex account transactions and to reconcile differences within established accounting
- Customer service, interpersonal and telephone
- Computer literacy in a Microsoft
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently as a team member in a fast paced environment in stressful situations
- Ability to maintain successful working relationships with the interdisciplinary team to achieve positive patient
- Ability to organize time effectively to perform the duties of the
- Ability to meet and interact with people in a pleasant, professional, responsible and reassuring Behavior consistent with Hospital Mission, Values and Standards of Performance.
- Ability to read, write and communicate to perform the duties of the Software applications related to account sub ledgers and general accounting systems.
- Ability to interpret, explain and comply with negotiated contracts, prescribed laws, rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
