Norquay Engineering Ltd. is currently seeking a Civil Engineering Technician to work out of our 677 MacDonald, Sault Ste. Marie, ON office location providing day to day assistance in the completion of Engineering design drawings and reports.
Reporting to the Senior Management and Ownership team, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing the following tasks, along with other requests to assist business operations.
Responsibilities and Duties include but are limited to:
- Design and draft civil engineering plans using software
- Collaborate with architects, engineers and other professionals on project specifications and requirements
- Grading Plans and Site Servicing Plans
- Storm Water Analysis and reporting
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation for project stakeholders
- Implement effective time management strategies to prioritize tasks efficiently
- Professional behaviour and leadership are expected as a representative of the Company.
- Assist with other duties as required or assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Civil Engineering Diploma from an accredited college program, eligible for CET Designation
- 2 years of experience will be considered an asset
- Working knowledge of drafting principles and AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and Microsoft Office including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of relevant Canadian standards, industry guidelines, and current industry practices.
- Detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Work both as a team and independently
- Good organizational skills with initiative, and that can handle challenges during execution of these projects.
- Ability to prioritize and do multiple tasks in a fast-paced turnaround environment.
- Maintain a Class G Driver’s License
