The Role:
The Business Systems Analyst supports the development and delivery of business and technology initiatives across the organization with a commitment to the member experience, service excellence and continuous improvement. The Business Systems Analyst elevates the member experience by investigating and resolving application issues, ensuring the quality of new functionality and services, as well as supporting change efforts to increase the adoption of changes introduced by the team. The incumbent partners with internal stakeholders across the organization and third parties in the delivery and implementation of its deliverables.
Business Systems Analyst III will be responsible for leading initiatives to deliver financial products or enhancements to the organization that align with YNCU values. This role will work with stakeholders to document requirements and guide the stakeholder with defining test cases as well as participate in all other aspects of the change.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead initiatives to meet the organization needs to develop financial products. Coordinating efforts for the full life cycle of the product development.
  • Explore opportunities and make recommendations for enhancements to existing technology and applications that will elevate the member experience and support YNCU’s Mission, Vision and Values.
  • Lead the planning and coordination for releases to technology systems supported by the Business Solutions team.
  • Work closely with Project Manager and actively participate in all phases of assigned projects as required including but not limited to scope setting, requirements gathering, testing, implementation, documentation/communication and training/transition
  • Mentor and support team members
  • Independently track effort and progress using department tools for initiatives lead by or assigned
  • Maintain a strong working partnership with the Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure, Data Analytics and Full Stack Developer team to strengthen the resolution of cross-departmental issues and goals
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of internal policies and procedures as they pertain to operations
  • Problem solve, analyze issues and identify effective solutions that will address issues holistically
  • Triage reported issues based on priority and scope to ensure a quicker resolution
  • Liaise with third parties to troubleshoot technology production issues or implement new technology services as required
  • Develop and execute a test plan strategy, prepare test cases, conduct user acceptance testing and log issues for quality assurance purposes
  • Work closely with and gather information from clients and other stakeholders, both internal and external, to collaborate and to conduct research and document business needs and requirements for new and existing technology systems
  • Provide excellent client service to internal and external parties
  • Abide by YNCU policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and practice
  • Work safely in accordance with YNCU’s Health & Safety Policy, procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act as amended from time to time
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary diploma, degree and/or certification in related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum two years’ experience in business analysis. IIBA certification considered an asset.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in financial services. Experience in a branch, back office processing, IT or related areas would be an asset.
  • Working knowledge of the business application systems supported by the team
  • Strong computer proficiency, specifically with MS Office, Excel and Azure DevOps
  • Experience in Agile methodology, processes and tools considered an asset
  • Availability to work outside of normal business hours as required to support scheduled release upgrades and/or fixes and implementations
  • Must be bondable
