About the job
As the Support Clerk for aviation safety, you will collaborate with the Aviation Management Team to manage occurrences and accidents, ensuring a high standard of safety is maintained. Every day will be a little different, but you can expect it to include tasks like:
• providing a wide range of administrative support services.
• overseeing the Aviation Safety Management System (SMS), including training, tracking, and manual updates.
• reviewing and tracking investigation/occurrence reports.
• providing secretarial support to the Aviation Safety Committee (i.e., schedule meetings, take minutes, follow up on action items, etc.)
• proofreading and editing documents and material.
What you bring to the team
Technical Knowledge and Computer Skills
You have:
• the ability to follow strict ministry policies and procedures and office business processes.
• the ability to acquire knowledge and skills to support the Aviation Safety Management System (SMS) and Aircraft Information Management System (ACIMS).
• experience in using database systems to input, retrieve, and format data for reports.
• You are proficient with computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office) to produce letters, reports, and safety related documents.
Administrative Knowledge and Skills
• You have experience with general administrative/clerical tasks (e.g., creating agendas, minute taking, arrange meetings/training, managing mail, etc.)
• You are proficient with filing systems, both manual and electronic, and maintaining records.
• You can operate general office equipment.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
You have:
• written communication skills to compose general correspondence in a clear and accurate manner.
• interpersonal skills to work harmoniously in a team environment.
• experience answering telephone calls and greeting visitors with tact and courtesy.
Analytical, Problem-Solving, and Organizational Skills
You have:
• initiative to analyze/research information to respond appropriately to a variety of inquiries.
• judgement skills to determine the most effective way to present materials.
• self-regulation and the ability prioritize work with conflicting deadlines and/or urgency.
• the ability to set priorities among multiple tasks while adhering to deadlines.
