The Algoma District Medical Group (ADMG), part of the Group Health Centre (GHC) is currently recruiting five Associate Family Medicine physicians to join its group. Candidates must hold an undergraduate medical degree, have successfully completed post graduate training and/or have an unrestricted license to practice medicine with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Candidates must possess all required skills to provide primary care services for patients in both office and in-hospital settings as well as the intention to practice in the North on a long-term basis.
The GHC provides a progressive, multi-specialty, ambulatory care health facility that serves over 60,000 Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District residents.

Additionally, the ADMG is currently recruiting long-term Family Medicine locums to start now and/or in the near future. The practices are established with well cared for patients.
Remuneration is $1,000 per 6-hour booked clinic. No on-call, hospital or after hours responsibilities. Reimbursement for travel, car rental and accommodation will be provided for locums of a minimum of two weeks.
Sault Area Hospital (SAH) has approximately 2700 dedicated staff, physicians and volunteers who work together to deliver outstanding care and services to a catchment population of approximately 115,000. With an approved complement of nearly 300 beds in spectacular new facilities, SAH provides primary, secondary and select tertiary services to residents in Sault Ste. Marie and the District of Algoma. In addition to providing core services in Emergency and Critical Care; Medicine; Surgery; Obstetrics, Maternity and Paediatrics; Mental Health and Addictions; Complex Continuing Care; and Rehabilitation, SAH is also home to the Algoma Regional Renal Program and the Algoma District Cancer Program.
Sault Ste. Marie is located on the St. Mary’s River between Lake Huron and Lake Superior on the U.S./Canadian border. Affiliation with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine provides opportunities to teach both medical students and residents in office and hospital.
The Ontario Ministry of Health Northern and Rural Recruitment & Retention Initiative provides an incentive of more than $83,000 over a 4 year period for physicians practicing full-time in Sault Ste. Marie. Additionally, the Sault Ste. Marie Physician Recruitment & Retention Program provides a relocation allowance of up to $5,000.
