The Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services is seeking a highly motivated individual with strong executive administrative skills with the responsibility for supporting the Director, coordination of all regional action request, internal/external communications and regional liaison with internal and external ministry partners.
The North Region is responsible for the effective delivery of programs and services located in communities across the Region and serve as the primary point of contact for the ministry at the local level.
The Regional Office works in collaboration to advance key multi-divisional priorities to enhance service delivery and the broader objectives of the ministry. They support better outcomes for the full spectrum of children, youth, adults and their families through four key functions; oversight and quality assurance, integration and collaboration, implementation of policy and funding decisions and advancing systems improvement.

- 200 First Ave W., North Bay
- 70 Foster Dr., Sault Ste. Marie
- 435 James St., Thunder Bay
What can I expect to do in this role?
- Maintain/manage the Director’s emails and correspondence;
- Arrange and maintain Director’s appointments and calendars;
- Plan regional activities such as virtual meetings, workshops, conference and training sessions.
- Liaise with the Minister, Deputy Minister and Assistant Deputy Minister’s Office;
- Prioritize and schedule workload to meet daily deadlines;
- Organize, track and respond to corporate and regional requests.
How do I qualify?
Organizational and Judgement Skills
- You have organizational skills and can prioritize your work to perform a variety of task within conflicting deadlines.
- You have the ability to multi-task and to work with minimal supervision
- You have attention to detail in order to ensure accuracy and correct errors on documents.
- You have judgement skills to assess the urgency of issues and take appropriate action.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
- You have oral, interpersonal and customer service skills to liaise with internal and external contacts.
- You have written communication skills for drafting and proofreading a variety of material using acceptable grammar, punctuation and spelling.
- You have the ability to act with tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive matters and in the handling of highly sensitive/confidential materials.
Administrative Skills
- You have an understanding of records schedules and file management procedures to maintain efficient and confidential filing systems.
- You have knowledge of general office procedures and equipment.
- You have knowledge of office technologies such as email, voicemail and software programs such as Microsoft Office 365 Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the internet/intranet.
Financial Skills
- You have arithmetic knowledge to prepare expense claims and requisitions.
