RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible to respond to mill breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner and working closely with area operators to resolve maintenance related issues.
- Investigate the root cause of equipment failure and make recommendations for long term fix
- Helps to develop PMs and works closely with Planners.
- Lead the troubleshooting and proper documentation (maintenance logbook) of all maintenance-related items.
- Lead the RIP (Reliability Improvement Program) process for downtime and send RIP communication prior to the end of the shift
- Communication of maintenance-related issues at the maintenance meetings
- Follow-up on outstanding maintenance shift issues from previous shift
- Enter appropriate notifications for required follow-up work.
- Complete assigned work orders or other PM activities based on established priority and return completed paperwork
- Provide recommendations for continuous improvement of troubleshooting resources (prints, manuals, job plans, tools, spare parts, etc.)
- Responsible for being aware of maintenance issues throughout the mill or assigned area (logbooks, interaction with operators)
- Will possibly lead a project from start to finish (consulting with manufactures / distributors, getting quotes, making purchase requests, developing job plans / timelines, install, commission, update prints, develop PMs, training manuals, etc.)
- Supports the crew in operate / maintain activities to keep the mill operating during an emergency or short staffing conditions
- Participate in maintenance meetings and other group functional meetings / training sessions.
REQUIREMENTS
- College graduate with Electrical Technician / Technologist Diploma and/or hold a valid ticket as a certified Industrial or Construction Electrician.
- 3+ years electrical maintenance experience in an automated industrial setting is an asset
- Demonstrates a strong awareness towards safety
- Strong knowledge of Rockwell based automated systems
- Good understanding of instrumentation devices and their integration in an automated system
- Good understanding of power distribution systems: transformers, PDCs, MCC etc
- Strong commitment to excellence and attention to detail
- Proven problem solver with solid analytical skills
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with staff, peers, and industry colleagues/contacts in a team environment.
- Excellent computer skills, particularly in AutoCAD and Microsoft based programs
- Demonstrats flexibility in adapting to a wide variety of tasks and functions
- Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills with the ability to adapt to change
- Ability to work a rotating 12-Hour Shift Schedule.
- Ability to work effectively as a part of the Maintenance Team to achieve all departmental goals.
