A Skilled Trades Worker – Refrigeration Mechanic who is responsible for the installation, relocation, repair, and maintenance of college-wide heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. The incumbent is also responsible for the inspections, preventative maintenance, repair, and/or replacement of controls, components, and auxiliary equipment related to these systems. The incumbent must also ensure building comfort is maintained through scheduling adjusting, and monitoring building conditions via the BMS (Building Management System).
What you need to be successful:
Red Seal Certified Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic
Certification in ODP (Ozone Depletion Prevention)
Gas Fitter 1 designation
minimum three years’ experience in the mechanical maintenance field with a focus on heating, ventilation air conditioning in a medium to large institution/commercial facility
experience with plumbing, drainage, sheet metal, and building management systems an asset
excellent communication skills
exceptional troubleshooting and analytical skills
valid First Aid and CPR an asset
strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
This is a full-time support staff position, 40 hours/week, Payband H – $31.37-$36.42 (starting rate $31.37/hour).
