We are ready to take this game to the next level and need a passionate Senior Network Support Specialist to Performs the daily administration, management, monitoring, maintenance and restoration of Technology infrastructure and systems such as, Storage/SAN, Network (UC) / Voice/Data, including network and internet security, and related components, devices and appliances. Enables the delivery of secure, predictable, stable and available services to OLG as required to meet or exceed SLA’s. Oversee vendor, project and currency opportunities to enhance, upgrade and secure network infrastructure.

YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME

Reporting to the Sr Manager Network Operations, you will be empowered to:

  • Perform the day-to-day infrastructure systems maintenance activities for systems and services of key infrastructure components and supports the data centre to ensure stable operations across various environments
  • Implements systems and services based on best practices from the knowledge management practices and repositories (policies, standards and procedures) to meet the predefined benchmarks/KPIs/SLAs
  • Executes daily system support for server, storage and network including providing tiered level infrastructure support following the infrastructure best practices to provide consistent quality output
  • Identifies, assesses and communicates infrastructure operational risks and contributes to infrastructure operations planning and escalates as necessary
  • Contributes to infrastructure knowledge management by creating a library of repeatable processes, tools, documentation related to all infrastructure components (product, service, hardware, software etc.)
  • Resolves and restores systems and services to normal operations resulting from incidents, outages etc.to minimize business disruption
  • Proactively monitors infrastructure components on a consistent basis to identify state or behavior changes to identify continuous improvement opportunities
  • Researches Infrastructure Technology emerging technologies and industry trends (e.g. processes, tools etc.) and provide education awareness through every customer interaction to help end-user adoption
  • Recommends process and environment improvements that reduce risk and improve efficiencies and SLA metrics.
  • Assists in root-cause analysis, solution research and development for new and unknown infrastructure systems issues to resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Executes the day to day infrastructure systems operations lifecycle from defining release strategy for change projects, to developing detailed release activity task planning, service readiness and acceptance and service transition (including documentation review) to ensure consistency
  • Executes the change, release and incident management process within the context of Infrastructure systems operations to ensure business continuity
  • Performs trending and tracking analysis of infrastructure components to proactively avoid resource shortages and ensure SLA commitments are maintained.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage cloud-based technologies to enable infrastructure operations as recommended in the cloud strategy and identify any associated impacts and provide recommendations.

WHAT YOU NEED TO PLAY

Work Experience: Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in progressively advancing roles within Technology or related functions | Minimum of two (2) years’ experience with Infrastructure Operations | Proficient in nineteen (19) of the above primary knowledge competency areas as listed above 

Education: Post-secondary degree, preferably in information systems, business administration and/or project management discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
