Senior Development Officer

The Senior Development Officer (SDO) plays a critical role in developing and stewarding Algoma University’s relationships; in securing private sector gifts; in advancing fundraising strategies and programs; and in managing and orienting volunteers. The Senior Development Officer, under the direction of the Director of Strategic Advancement,  will work closely with different academic and administrative leaders and volunteers to identify and qualify prospects and to strategically engage, cultivate and solicit financial support for the Universities priorities which align with donor interests.

The SDO will develop strategies to promote ongoing and/or increased giving, donor relations; this includes soliciting gifts, sponsorships, and funding independently, and in concert with the Director of Strategic Advancement and Senior Executive.  The SDO will actively use planned giving, donor relations and stewardship, annual and leadership giving and information-based systems to advance the University.
