Springer Aerospace is currently looking for a Purchasing Agent. The Buyer will be responsible and accountable for processing Purchase Requests raised by Company personnel, negotiating prices, payment terms, delivery dates and expediting the orders to ensure items are received within the required time frame.

What you’ll do:


Create & process Purchase Requests for any items requested including: Aircraft parts, supplies, tools, equipment, subcontracted services, office supplies, etc.

Create new part numbers in ERP System

Source and order parts in accordance with the Springer’s Policies and Procedures

Solicit competitive bids for all items on Purchase Requests and negotiate shipping and payment terms

Ensure Purchase Orders are approved in accordance with the Springer’s Policies and Procedures

Raise Purchase Orders for all approved Purchase Requests

Ensure that proposed Alternate Part Number or Part Manufacturing Authority (PMA) parts are approved prior to issuing a Purchase Order
Process Vendor Approvals in accordance with Springer’s Maintenance Policy Manual

Create Vendors in ERP System

Order materials from approved Vendors

Follow up and expedite Purchase Orders and ensure that committed deliveries are met

Coordinate transports and track shipments

Manage Material Shortage Lists and ensures accuracy

Attend a variety of Project and Production Meetings

Communicate with Customers on Customer/Buyer Furnished Equipment and any shortages

Coordinate with Customer on part approvals that exceed the Contracted Cap

Ensure that invoicing discrepancies are resolved, and Purchase Orders amended

Process Return of Material Authorizations (RMA’s)

Prepare claims against Vendors (i.e. extra charges, return of defective products, etc.) and follow up with Finance to ensure credits are received

Ensure that min-max levels are maintained

Available to be on-duty to support AOG requests

What you’ll need

College level education in a relevant field or equivalent work experience

Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience previous work experience in aviation would be an asset

Proficient in working within a computerized environment: very good knowledge of Microsoft Office knowledge of ERP systems would be an asset

Demonstrating knowledge and understanding of supply chain management

Possess excellent mathematical abilities

Highly organized and detail-oriented

Ability to manage overlapping projects and meet deadlines

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication abilities (written/oral) in English
