Located just nine miles east of Sault Ste. Marie in Echo Bay, Springer Aerospace is one of Canada’s oldest aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) companies.  Transport Canada certified, Springer Aerospace provides quality aircraft maintenance services to a wide range of customers such as airlines, commercial operators, and private owners.  With over 40 years of experience in maintaining and operating aircraft, Springer Aerospace is capable of handling all aircraft up to and including large turboprop commuter aircraft.  Their paint facility is one of the largest in Ontario and capable of handling aircraft up to the size of a CL-415, Dash 8 or ATR-72.  From routine maintenance, to complete overhauls, structural repairs, and major modifications, Springer Aerospace can meet your needs and schedule.

Manager Logistics & Administration

The Manager Logistics & Administration is responsible to oversee, co-ordinate and monitor all activities in purchasing, stores, tool crib, shipping, receiving and head office administration.

Key Responsibilities


  • Manage / oversee all purchasing activities;
  • Supervise and provide technical guidance to the Stores personnel;
  • Establish new Vendors;
  • Manage Vendor approvals;
  • Negotiate agreements with Vendors;
  • Ensure Material Shortage List are accurate;


  • Manage / oversee stores, quarantine, tool crib, shipping and receiving;
  • Supervise all Stores activities including:
    • Parts issuing and control;
    • Tool issuing, tool control, calibration and records;
    • Shelf Life;
    • Shipping and receiving of aeronautical components;
    • Shipping of dangerous goods
    • Quarantine areas;
    • Min / max inventory levels;
    • Return to Stock.
  • Coordinate freight, customs and brokers;
  • Supervise and provide technical guidance to the Stores personnel;
  • Process Purchase Requests for tools and equipment that require calibration or repairs;
  • Process internal repair requests for tools and equipment that are damaged;
  • Monitor materials in the shop supply bins and products in flammable storage cabinets and ensure they are replenished, and the bins / cabinets are clean and organized;
  • Monitor access to stockroom and provide escorts if required;
  • Perform periodical and cyclical counts;
  • Ensure that all stocking locations are clean and properly identified with required labels;
  • Ensure that all aeronautical products and materials issued are properly identified;
  • REnsure that min-max levels are maintained
  • perfrom will oversee the production activities inspection;
  • shipping, receiving and receiving r)tttttEnsure that issues with materials on the Receiving Reports are resolved in a timely manner;
  • Ensure Stores department operates in accordance with Maintenance Policy Manual (MPM) and established company policies and procedures;
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and integrity of inventory levels;
  • Interact with the planning and maintenance in order to analyze patterns and history as well as validate that optimal inventory levels (Min/Max) are always available based on current and future Maintenance requirements;
  • Attend & participate in various meetings (i.e.: Shift Kick Off, Change Over, Project Kick Off, Postmortem, etc.);
  • Assist Finance in reviewing invoices and resolving invoicing issues;
  • Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to monitor department performance;SetS

General Administrative & Management

  • Ensure the workplace is clean and safe at all times;
  • Promote Safety Management System & raise SMS’s whenever required;
