Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance
  • Inspect, diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline equipment deficiencies
  • Communicate with site management to coordinate maintenance priorities
  • Maintain maintenance records
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Take part in all training requirements.
  • Tracking of service records in maintenance management software (SAP PM)

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED is a minimum requirement
  • Heavy duty equipment technician 421A Certificate of qualification

Skills:

  • Able to work independently and as part of a professional maintenance team
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong commitment to safe operations and continuous improvement
  • Experience using computerized diagnostics tools
  • Knowledge of locomotives an asset
  • Troubleshooting, engine analysis, disassembling engines replacing defective parts, reassembling.
