Our panels are produced on state-of-the-art solar manufacturing lines in Ontario-Canada, Minnesota-USA, and at manufacturing partners in Asia.

We are seeking an Engineering Technician. This is a unique opportunity for a skilled, experienced, and motivated individual to join a team that is developing solutions to tackle the climate crisis with strong development and manufacturing presence in North America. This position is based in Sault Saint Marie, Ontario, Canada.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform engineering tasks related to new product development and support of existing products
  • Perform testing and characterization of solar cells, solar panels, and systems
  • Set up lab equipment and perform performance and reliability testing on solar materials, coupons, and laminate
  • Development of CAD models and drawings
  • Assist in automation, controls, PLCs, and electro-mechanical equipment operation/ maintenance
  • Analysis of large sets of data and synthesis of results
  • Preparation and presentation of reports to engineering teams
  • Development of documentation for engineering, testing, production, and quality assurance

Qualifications:

  • 3-year technologist degree/diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • 2 or more years of industry experience in design, manufacturing, or test environment
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering components, systems, and controls
  • Experience of developing new designs and making 2D/3D CAD drawings using one or more industry standard CAD software required
  • Proficiency in office productivity tools required
  • Experience of automation, controls, PLCs, and electro-mechanical equipment operation/maintenance preferred
  • Experience of one or more programming languages, lab tools, data analytics preferred
  • Experience of solar panel manufacturing and testing preferred
