JOB SUMMARY:

The Aircraft Maintenance Apprentice will work under the supervision of the Aircraft Maintenance Leads, Inspector Crew Leads, and Engineers to safely and efficiently maintain client aircraft.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Apprentice shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following job tasks:

Production:

  • Developing your skills as an apprentice by performing and ensuring proper completion of all maintenance activities, with the support of experienced AMEs;
  • Carry out daily tasks/duties as assigned by AMLs, ICLs and AME’s, this includes working furnishings, mechanical, avionics and structures as needed;
  • Perform all work assigned in accordance with the instruction and procedures;
  • Carry out duties as per the appropriate maintenance control manual and ensure familiarity and conformity to Transport Canada regulatory standards;
  • Ensure aircraft documentation is complete and accurate as per Springer Aerospace’s Maintenance Policy Manual;
  • Care and custody of tooling and publications associated with the maintenance function;
  • Attend training courses as directed by company;
  • Adhere to the Safety Management System Policy;
  • Maintain professional work habits and communicate with employees and customers in a professional manner;
  • Maintain and ensure a clean and safe work environment at all times;
  • Complete any special projects or other tasks as required or assigned. May be assigned to other areas of operations, based on business needs or customer requirements;
  • Assist in all other related duties, as assigned by management;

Qualifications:

  • Aircraft Maintenance Engineering diploma (or equivalence);
  • Working towards becoming a licensed AME;
  • Previous apprentice related experience is an asset;
  • Must be attentive to detail
  • Committed to Continuous Improvement;
  • Excellent ability to multitask & handle changing priorities under pressure;
  • Initiative, interpersonal skills and positive attitude;
  • A commitment to teamwork and working in a safety-oriented atmosphere;
  • Available to work on a variety of shifts and overtime, if required;
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as well as climb, kneel and crawl frequently in tight spaces.
