The Algoma District School Board (ADSB) is seeking applications for ADSB Indigenous Graduation Coach
Korah C. & V.S. or Superior Heights C. & V.S.

10 Month – Full Time Contract Position (End: June 30, 2022)

The Indigenous Graduation Coach will assist with leading and implementing programs, services and other supports to meet the unique needs of Indigenous students and their families, with a focus on student success and graduation. You will collaborate with school staff, parents, Indigenous community partners and outside agencies to build networks and supports to foster success for students during and outside the school day. As a member of the school team, the Indigenous Graduation Coach will play a crucial role in assisting all staff to improve achievement, well-being and graduation rates for Indigenous students attending Korah C. & V.S. or Superior Heights C. & V.S.

Position Qualifications & Requirements:
• Ontario High School Diploma or equivalent, as well as a degree or diploma in Social Sciences, Indigenous Studies/Services, First Nations Family Support/Community Worker, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, working with and supporting youth.
• Familiarity with local First Nations, Inuit and Métis Cultures and experience working with Indigenous students, their families and communities within our region is required.
• Possess strong organizational and communication skills, proficient computer skills, willingness to be flexible and able to work cooperatively with others.
• A valid driver’s license and the willingness and ability to travel for school board related business is required.
